Lucky Bisht Explained: Why Iran’s Proxy War Is So Dangerous

In Middle East geopolitics, the term “Proxy War” is often heard. But what exactly is a proxy war, and why is it considered so dangerous?
Former Indian intelligence officer Lucky Bisht explained this topic in a very simple way during an interview with Times Now.
According to him, Iran’s real strength is not only its military but its proxy network, which is one of the main reasons Israel and Western countries continue to see it as a major threat.
What Is a Proxy War?
According to Lucky Bisht, a proxy war is a conflict in which a country fights indirectly through organizations or groups that support it, instead of entering the battlefield itself.
In other words, the country does not appear on the front line, but the groups it supports carry out attacks against its enemies.
In the Middle East, several organizations are believed to have connections with Iran and are active in different regions.
Why Is Iran’s Proxy War Considered Dangerous?
Lucky Bisht explains that in a traditional war, the military follows a basic principle:
Defense and Hit
This means securing your own defense first and then attacking the enemy.
However, proxy wars operate differently.
Many fighters involved in such conflicts are willing to go on suicide missions. Their goal is not necessarily to survive but to cause maximum damage to the enemy.
This makes it extremely difficult for regular armies to deal with such threats.
Why Ground Operations Can Become Risky
According to Lucky Bisht, if any country tries to launch a direct ground operation against Iran, it could face heavy losses.
This is because the fight would not only be against Iran’s military but also against networks that may be active in different places.
For this reason, many powerful countries think very carefully before considering direct military action.
Security Process When Meeting High-Risk Leaders
During the interview, Lucky Bisht also explained how strict security procedures are followed when meeting a High Risk Person (HRP) or a major leader.
In such situations:
The person may be asked to change clothes.
Watches, lockets, or any electronic devices are removed.
New clothes may be provided.
These steps are taken to ensure that no tracking device or security threat is present.
Conclusion
According to Lucky Bisht, it is difficult to understand Middle Eastern politics without understanding Iran’s strategy.
Through proxy warfare, Iran can maintain its influence without entering a direct war. That is why this strategy is considered one of the most complex and dangerous approaches in modern geopolitics.
